Meet my lovely models, Jill and Maya. I will show you how to get a smokey professional look for the office and a smokey look for an evening out!
Jill and Maya before
Jill
Jill is a busy Mom that likes to wear make-up every day. She wanted a nice soft smokey look that was suitable for the work environment and doesn’t take long to apply.
Eyes: I prepped the lids with Trish McEvoy Eyebase Essential in Bare. I then drew three lines, one above the other on her lid, stopping just before her socket. This shadow liner is exactly as described a shadow stick and an eye liner in one. As the shadow stick is cream based, I pressed and blended the Smokey Quartz 24 hr Liner across the lid and into the socket. This softened the shadow and ensures that it will not crease or look clumpy on the eye.
I lined the eyes with the Intense Black Gel Liner by dotting in between the lashes. This is known as tight-lining and is great for giving definition to the eyes and making the lashes look thicker at the roots.
I used the Blackberry Granite to give extra definition to the lash line by smudging it all around the lash line. I then added lashings of mascara to the lashes, for extra definition.
Lips: I wanted to keep the lips natural looking with a little definition, so I used Barley Nude lip liner and followed with Natural Lipstick.
Maya
Maya wanted a sultry smokey look for an evening out with her friends. This look is all about the blending!
Eyes: I started by blending the Blackberry Granite Definer in the socket and softly over the lid leaving a small space in the centre. I then used the Smokey Quartz in the center of the lid applying a small amount and blending, so it gave the lid a lift of light on the ball of the eye.
I lined the eyes with the Intense Gel Black Liner giving Maya definition and a little wing to elongate the eyes. I used the Smokey Quartz again in the inner corner of the eyes and underneath the eyes, along the lash line. I then smudged any excess blackberry granite on the brush under the eyes into the smokey quartz. Finally I added lashings and lashings of mascara to complete the smouldering look.
Lips: I thought a nice Berry lipstick would finish this look. I used Vino lip liner from MAC across the entire lip.
